This year has been crazy in terms of work. I cannot believe that last year, around this time, I was at the peak of my output here on
, and this year, in the entire quarter, I have not finished even one entire story. I had a good start with The Other Men and Once a Sub, but I’ve let them go stale. These past three months have made me realize that if I want to continue growing this little place on the Internet, I’ll have to calibrate my approach to writing. I will have to calibrate my expectations, and also that of my readers.
A Business and a Hobby
I get asked this question a lot, especially on Instagram — do I make enough from writing? I don’t. And that was not my intention when I started After a Good Date. I wanted it to be a place which I’d like to visit, a place for Indian erotica, which is much more than just “boy fucks girl” stories.
Over time, I have come up with some pay-walled content. It was a nice sense of validation, and helped offset costs for keeping this site going. However, I do not want this to become “work” or a “side hustle”.
I desperately needed a hobby back in 2022, and I need one now. And writing here has been a rewarding hobby, and I will continue to do so.
Starting today, you’ll see a less focus on monetisation. The complete stories will continue to be behind paywalls, however, I’ll spend less time thinking how to make my writing buy worthy, and when to ask for your support.

The Weeks Ahead
I am back to writing deliberately to publish here. I will start with posting the next parts of Once a Sub, and a new short story.
For the next few months, my focus will be on completing the open stories, even though it’s counter productive — you probably have lost interest in The Other Men, but without completing it, it doesn’t make sense to demand your mental energy for a new story series like The Long Weekend.
Until next post, take care!
There will be a few design changes, and a shift in the focus to less art and more text. Also, you’ll find me less active on Reddit and more active here.
