.A Slump in Stories
January 2024, wasn’t been the liveliest of months on After a Good Date. There has been an average of one post a week, which is much higher than my publication frequency of the past. However, to me and to my readers, it feels like a slump.
I had to think hard to find the reason for feeling unaccomplished the entire month. The Other Men has continued, and the second part of Body of Words was published, however, in all these stories, I was hard-pressed to find the nascent pleasure, that pleasure of novelty which I used to feel while writing an erotic story to you.
I have 40,000 words, unpublished because, they all feel the same — a girl and guy in a hotel. I was shocked to find that too many of my recent works being centered around hotel check-ins.
There’s a reason for that is, well, personal experiences. The kind of pleasures I indulge in my life, necessitates hotel check-ins. It’s not always easy to get a girl to your place, and also that’s something that is not advisable, especially in a country like India, where neighbors are often passive aggressors.
The Story Which Started it all
My bestselling story, continues to be An Evening with the Girls. While looking back, I have tried to find the ingredients which made it work. The story being real was certainly important, but what really worked was the way I used the hotel room in my narration.
For the last week, I have been working a sequel to The Fourth Wheel. It’s about the life of Sumera and Avesh after their parents have been married. While writing it, my first instinct was to place the characters in a hotel room. The Fourth Wheel worked because of the intimate and relatable environment of a home. The whole point of the story was the boldness that these two teen adults showed while pleasuring themselves, while their parents were outside, parents who were dating each other.
The story will change a lot in the second chapter. I will take a fundamental turn from how I’d imagined the story to be, the aspects of their lives that I want to talk about. I do not want this fictional story to fall into the trope of hotel check-in. Instead, I want to write more about the anxiety and nervousness of living in the same house with the girl with whom you had sex for the first time, a girl who is as hot as Sumera.
A Gangbang Bride
Oof. Where do I begin with this? Gangbangs are messy to write. In two years, I have not written a single gangbang story. In Untying the Knots, I flirted with the idea of a gangbang, but shied away from it.
The reason? Too many dicks, and too few places to put them. There are a lot of simultaneous things going on in a gangbang. Since, I write from the perspective of the characters’ feeling during the sex, it becomes difficult to keep track of what all the random groping and touching feels for the girl.
But! Well, I’m close to finishing a story about Prachi, which will be a short story (one-part). A lot of the elements of what Prachi feels in the story, is inspired by my conversations with
. A large chunk of the story, will be available at , however, the complete story will be available only to Patreon members, and of course, on my Gumroad store.Experimenting with Different Tones
Frankly, I am not proud of the brisk, blow-by-blow narrative style which I’ve gotten used in my recent stories. The build-up is important, but, I have been missing on the biggest reason I write here — to have fun! I’m working on a rather long Shorts story, yet to have a title. It will have a tone flagrantly different from my usual first-person stories. It will be fictional, but, I couldn’t have written it in third person, without going back to my usual tone. Once, I’m done with it, it will be available to my Patreon members, a week before publication here.
That’ll be all for this Issue. I will rather work on the stories to finish them, then spend the time talking about it, even before you have read it.
