A new Friday, a new Issue!
Twice the Fun — A New Escapade
It’s been about a week since I published the fifth part of About a Common Whore. The Issue#20 was on a Thursday, because I was away from Friday. Me and Nidhi had gone to Goa, which is why I couldn’t get much writing done over the weekend. When I started writing here, I used to do most of my writing during the week, in the day, in the breaks during my day job.
My writing has evolved over the course of a year, and I simply cannot concentrate on my writing, when my Slack keeps buzzing. Weekends are a good time to write, but now and then when I go out for a date night or out of the city, I don’t get the time to continue stories, especially stories like those about Roli which require a bit of character sketching.
Writing an Escapades story is always fun — to relive the night, to relive the girl, and to relive all the excitement.
Twice the Fun is about Tara and Khushi. I don’t know much about Khusi, since I met only for an evening. Tara, on the other hand, we have been talking for a bit, and I know a thing or two about her. I haven’t told Tara that write here, because, I didn’t want our interaction after that Friday evening to be awkward. Once I have written most of the story, maybe I will send Tara the link to these stories.

New Aesthetics
I have been starting and abandoning blogs for ages. As far as I can remember, my first blog was in 2008. It was a site on Blogger. I remember spending days and weeks deciding on the best fonts and color schemes. Even back then the selection of templates and color schemes was wide enough to confuse a 16-year-old me.
Fast forward to 2022, when I started this Substack, I started with the default theme and default color palette. To be honest, Substack is very Apple-isque in their approach for publishing. They have a robust and beautiful default design and the styling options are limited. But I still had the Logo, Cover Image and Wordmark to work with.
The Logo for After a Good Date, for all this time had been a really sexy fruit.
I am no designer. In fact I have absolutely zero knowledge of Photoshop. In fact, I had stayed away from that software all these years, for reasons that I cannot rationalize. For whatever designs I do, like designing the first slide of a presentation for work or sending out Valentine Day cards to the women I like, I use Canva.
I chose the fruit because it looks like a peachy ass if seen at a glance and the background I kept bright red because, red is the color of passion (also, I am partially color blind, deuteranomaly, so, I like bright colors). The accent colors were also the same red as this logo.
It was simple and worked alright.
But the logo was too mild compared to the erotic art in my posts. So, it needed a bit of an overhaul. So, last week, I finally managed to finalize the logo for After a Good Date.
I have also changed the background of the posts to less bright color compared to white. I want reading erotica to be an intimate and warm experience. And then there’s a cover image, when anybody visits After a Good Date for the very first time.
How do you like the changes?
The Logos That Didn’t Make it
There were a few logos which were nice, but, which I felt too bold for a logo.
After a Good Date is entirely reader supported. All the posts here are free to read, and I don’t offer a paid subscription tier. I want the Indian erotica, at least the way I envision it, to reach as many people as is possible. And for that I require resources and time. The Week Ahead
I am working the sixth part of About a Common Whore, so, I am pretty sure that it will be published before the next issue comes out. I am having a lot of fun writing Twice the Fun, there’s much to tell you about Tara and Khushi. And, I am also working on a new Art Pack — Naughty Brides. The art pack will be different that Reeti’s pictures. She was a naughty new wife, but these brides are not as young as she was, and they know what they want with their bodies. The art that you see for the post is part of that upcoming pack.
